Did you know that there’s a point in which you can love Jesus, TOO much? I didn’t know it, but there is this invisible line that you can’t cross, even in the Christian community. Now, of course, I DON’T believe that this line should exist, nor does EVERYONE act this way, but I have crossed it many times now to confidently say that sadly, it exists.
It’s ok to say that you are spiritual or that you believe in God, but Jesus? Don’t bring HIM up.
“You love everyone? Oh no, there are still some people that are beyond deserving of love.”
It is not my job to judge. It is my job to share Jesus and let them decide what they want to do with it. That’s what free will is.
“You don’t care what someone’s opinion is of you? You should still probably be careful what you say around ‘them’ because you might upset them.”
Actually, I don’t. I have one person that I aim to please and that’s the creator of the Universe.
“You actually LISTEN to everything he says to do? What if it offends somebody?”
I’m sorry, but my allegiance is to Jesus, and not anyone else, no matter what he asks me to do, who it might upset or what could change as a result of my obedience.
“You seriously aren’t afraid of this, that and the other thing?”
I push through every fear, with Jesus alongside of me and with his name on my lips.
“You really are going to extend grace to THEM after what they did??? Oh no, they still need to be punished for a little bit longer. You can be the one to extend it, but don’t involve me in the process.”
As painful as it was, I am not the judge and jury. God is. I’ve been down that road of unforgiveness and bitterness. It’s not a pretty road.
“You really are honest like, all the time? Not even a little white lie?”
Yes. I hate lying and the consequences that come with it. I’ve been down that road and never want to go down it again.
“You are really that narrow minded to believe that Jesus is the only way to life both on and off of this earth?”
Yes, and if you took the time to study his word, pray, reflect and cut out all of the hustle and bustle of this world, you will draw the same conclusion.
“You really believe that Jesus is the answer to everything?” Yes. EVERYTHING.
“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 7:14
To be in the minority can feel somewhat lonely at times, but that’s before I tell the enemy to “shut up” and go back to Hell where he belongs. There is nothing better on and off this planet than Jesus. I’ve tried enough of other things to know.
Don’t let circumstances or people get in the way of pursuing a relationship with him or keeping it. People, including myself, can be disappointing. They can really screw a lot of things up, but JESUS does not disappoint.
I think I just crossed that invisible line again. Oh well.
